We had a situation where we were not provided a tax exemption certificate until the end of the project. A number of invoices had had use tax accrued on them through AP, but I didn't want to adjust use tax on this job through AP because I didn't want to create an AP invoice with a zero gross amount. I checked the knowledge base and saw that JC Cost Adjustments does not let you touch use tax, so I had to do an entry directly to the GL account for tax liability and then manually track it to be sure I took the credit against what needed to be paid on my next filing. It would have been much easier to let me add a line in JC Cost Adjustments that let me have a zero dollar cost, but a use tax basis that would have corrected this value.
