I received 3 update notification is as many weeks. Before I could finish the update to 6.17.10 (a quick update), I received notification of 6.18 (a lengthy update). After updating to 6.17.10, our payroll removed a vendor from a deduction and will not process the deduction. I try to always check all of the release notes and issues "fixed in" to be sure it is not something that will require us to check on our setup. However, this one said nothing about changing a payroll deduction and we cannot find any other explanation for the change as no one has access to change their information except the CFO and this is a deduction that has been taken out for a while and would not change. While we understand that updates are to help resolve issues and create better performance, we spend a lot of time running updates and then having to be sure nothing changed that we are not aware of. Honestly, it would be more cost effective and less time-consuming on the customers to have less updates and just use the "workarounds" we are always being given for a while longer rather than trying to constantly run updates and see what might have changed.
