Make Depreciation Posting a Background Process

When I post monthly depreciation, the Vista application is unusable until the batch has posted. The problem is that the batch process window stays up and never goes away. There is no status on the process and eventually, it times out and it all freezes up. I then have to open another instance of Vista and check the GL's to make sure the depreciation posted correctly, and then go to the original instance of Vista and hard quit it with task manager. The posting process could be a background process so that it doesn't lock up my application and require extra steps.
