Hi there, we are considering this as an option in Vista. There would need to be a button near the grid that would call the grid to save the changes that were made.
Would this be workable for you all if it were a system level option that an admin could configure? It might work by having the "save" button invisible unless "Disable Grid Auto-save" were checked.
That way, customers who would like the grids to continue to auto-save would be happy, while those would would like there to be a specific button present to save changes would find that need met as well.
We probably just got burned by unintentional edits in the grid which resulted in incorrect PR computation of deductions on multiple employees. The configuration of a deduction code got changed so that it took the wrong amounts on multiple employees. This resulted in a critical support case 1333325. This could have been avoided if auto save had not been turned on.
