EM Location Transfer (New) - We need it to NOT update EM Equipment table with the new JOB or LOCATION information until the date on the transfer.

Currently EM Location Transfer is only useful as an CURRENT or HISTORIC tool. It would be a little more helpful if either

• EM Equipment: Location & Job DO NOT UPDATE until the date listed on the transfer, OR
• EM Equipment: Location/Job should be DISPLAY ONLY and show the most recent info from the "EM Location Transfer" table. That way they would still be useful as filters in EM Equipment, and would also be correct whenever they are being viewed.

I know VP recommends either using the Loc and Job fields in EM Equipment, or using the EM Location Transfer, but not both. I agree. However, there does not appear to be a way to HIDE the Loc and Job fields in EM Equipment, so they just sit there and it is very tempting to filter or sort by those two fields.

That's why it would be useful if either of the two above suggestions were implemented. Everything would stay in sync, and users could sort/filter to their hearts content, knowing that the data is correct.

  (note that all of this would be pointless if you allowed us to write custom display-only fields, as I could easily write code to grab the current location/job from the EM Location Transfer table)
