Sometimes it is necessary to make cosmetic changes to deposits that have already been cleared in a prior month. If it doesn't change the balance on the CM account the transaction should be able to be changed without having to delete the open statement. Journal entries and job cost adjustments are insufficient to make the adjustments without a high level of questioning and disapproval by project auditors making a simple entry correction beneficial.
