VP does not support SQL Expired Password option:
Brief description of problem:
When the SQL Password has expired the user receives the following message when signing into Viewpoint.
See attachment.
Error:
Unable to read the list of HQ Companies.
Login failed for user 'xxx' because the account is currently locked out.
The system administrator can unlock it.
System version & test data:
V6.1.1
Situation:
Using SQL server authentication
The 'Enforce Password Policy' and 'Enforce Password Expiration' options are set for the user's login properties.
SQL utilizes the local server password rules under the group policies.
Personal Note:
I was under the assumption that Viewpoint supported expired SQL logins. What are the recommendations for public traded companies that require the password rules for the Serbian Oxley Act? The only option I know is to set their SQL logins for NT Authentication but that does not work for customers running SQL authentication.
