Use start and projected end dates on a project and have the projects to automatically appear on a calendar that can be viewed via smartphone/tablet such as Outlook or Sharepoint. It would be especially helpful if attachments and selected project details would be attached to this calendar event as well. Unlimited calendars (such as by department, or crew, or project manager).
