AP Aged Open Payables not correctly reflecting Current vs. Past Due Amount

Currently, both coming due, and up to past 30 days due invoices are showing up in the "Current" column when the report is run aged off of the Due Date.  This is deceiving to the actual current amount due because it is combining invoices that are due in 30 days, to invoices that are overdue 30 days (that is a two month range, or possibly more depending on payment terms).  An invoice that is overdue 30 days should not be showing in the current column.  Penalties can result from an invoice being that far overdue.

 

I think the solution is ​there should be a 1-30 days column added to the AP Aged Open Payables report.  This is where an invoice amount would appear the day after the due date, correctly reflecting the Current amount for invoices that aren't yet due, and alerting you to invoices overdue so that they can be paid immediately. 

 

An example report was ran on 8/1/16 with an aging based on Due Date. For Vendor #11, Allied Refrigeration, the current amount is showing as $1,166.80. If you take a look at the due dates, you can see that $1,062.04 of this amount is actually overdue...while only $104.76 is coming due in the next few days. This is just one example of how your current AP can be distorted.
