All other fields allow you to change them if validation fails. But once a dropdown is invalid, clicking the dropdown arrow to change it shows the validation error instead of allowing the user to change the value.
Internally: Please do not run the validation procedure when the user taps on the arrow to CHANGE THE VALUE. Running it after they select a value is good, but not AS they are selecting a value.
Thankfully F4 still works to open the dropdown, but the average user will use the mouse if they see a dropdown symbol.
