We run our Auto Earnings weekly. Our normal business days are M-F. There is no option for those salaried employees to have an auto timecard posted for 8 hours each day during each pay period. We have to post daily to get that effect. I am suggesting, that we should have the option for any payroll frequency, where it will split hours and use "working" pay period dates.

Our Admin payroll is run every two weeks. That means that there are frequently pay periods that cross months. Auto Earnings all post to the last day of the Pay Period, so they end up in one month. All 80 hours gets posted to the employee's Department, not split across jobs or anything.
To deal with split pay periods, the current guidance from Viewpoint is to post auto earnings to one month then manually add a line in Timecard Entry for the second month and distribute the hours appropriately between the two lines. That is an insane amount of work and introduces huge opportunities for entry errors.
We're seriously considering setting up auto earnings by day for each person so that we can easily post time to the correct week without having to do any manual adjustments. That's a lot more up front management, but would make processing easier. And you can import Auto Earnings setups so it wouldn't be as complicated as it sounds. Each day would have it's own sequence number so that you could control how many days go into which month when posting the auto earnings.
We would like to be able to keep our setup of one 80 hour Auto Earnings line per employee but have the option to have it enter 8 hours per day for the 10 working days in the pay period.
