In PO Initialize Receipts batch process, the receiver is given set data on a PO. What's missing in this is the ability to review order subtotal or tax. Giving the receiver the ability to view tax rate and request changes or adjustments to tax based on invoice/sales ticket before receipt entry would help avoid clogging the pipeline between Purchasing, Receiving and AP.
If tax is incorrect and the item is received in, it gets held in accounting, sent back to receiving to un-receive items needing changes, goes to purchasing to update, back to receiving to re-receive and then finally back to accounting to be paid. If the person entering receipts had a simple way to simply view PO tax total, it would cut down on this back and forth.
Viewing/checking tax before receiving items in is currently being done by pulling the PO report (with cost) and comparing to the sales receipt. During slow parts of the season that's reasonable but during it's peak it would significantly slow down the receiving process.
