We would l like to restrict certain users to be able to import to certain modules (using templates that they have security access to.) The reasons are 1 - to be consistent with their Vista form security access and 2- to restrict them to the import templates for which they are trained. Some imports, such as the import to AP Transaction Entry, override the account defaults set up for cost codes and I don't want staff to take it upon themselves to start importing to AP Transaction Entry and make my GL and JC out of balance.

Yes please! Templates should be secured just like forms (by company, user and/or user group). Templates can be a big security risk for direct imports and these should be controlled. Giving someone access to IM Upload/Import should not give the ability to chose any template, just those they are approved to use and are appropriate for their role.
