If the [Attachment Lister] is open in DETAILS or ICON view, please make it so if we drag & drop a single file ON TOP OF another single file, we can do an in-place upgrade/update of the data of that attachment.
In my cause I'm using it for EMPLOYEE AVATARS with a custom datatype.
If the user was dragging in MULTIPLE files and let up on the mouse while hovering over an existing attachment, perhaps something like the following would work?
This would allow the user to quickly DELETE the old attachment if they so wish, and also spot the new ones to add the TYPE or DESCRIPTION meta-data.
What do you think? Would anyone working with attachments NOT benefit from this?

How about instead of "__ Attachment(s) added To Queue" dialog it pulls up the edit attachment box.
hmm, I guess this might confuse some users and possibly cause loss of data for the single drag-and-drop users who accidentally hover over an existing attachment?
Although in the Windows world, users know not to drop files on top of other files unless they are trying to OPEN THEM WITH or do a MOVE INTO FOLDER, so I don't think very many users would find this behavior odd.
So perhaps the best solution would be a "Would you like to REPLACE the existing XXXXXXX, or add your new attachment? [Replace] [Add]" dialog? That way there would be not accidental data deletion.
And if the user does not have DELETE rights, then the dialog is not shown, and the attachments are always added.
