SM Checklists (not tasks related to Equipment) & ability to add at SM Agreement Type level

We have a "Whole House Inspection" task list that we want to do with 5000+ of our customers, once pear year, and track the results.

The current VP setup requires:

  • A Serviceable Item Class, type and maintenance named "whole house inspection".
  • In Maintenance, setup the individual tasks under the Tasks tab.
  • Serviceable Item setup on each service site named "whole house", with the same Class and Type.
  • For each of the 5000+ sites:
    • SM Agreements ->
    • Tasking ->
    • Select Serviceable Items ->
    • Check All ->
    • Close, Close.

I can see how the above flow is very useful for maintaining equipment, but it seems like horrible overkill for a simple checklist I want a technician to perform, especially when not related to equipment.

Possible Solutions

  • Adding Steps under SM Standard Tasks
    • When the Task is added to a WO, I'd expect it to either
      • Auto expand each step into a proper task, or
      • Use a new Steps tab (subtab?).
  • Ability to assign WF Checklist Tasks to a WO
    • (with a similar outcome as above)
  • Create a new form called SM Checklists that could be used by both
    • SM Standard Tasks and
    • Maintenance of a SM Serviceable Item Class

Combined with any of the above, we would also love the ability to assign this checklist to an Agreement Type, not just an agreement. As such, I would expect it to automatically show up in the SM Agreements -> Tasking as selected for any agreements of said type. 

Anyone have thoughts on this?
