Viewpoint should limit themselves to one major release a year, and it should come out after the year end.
For the second year in a row, I found myself pressed to do an upgrade over the holidays to accommodate year-end processing. And I am forced to choose between a mature release (6.16.10) or one that I'm concerned might still have some issues (6.17.03). Are you trying to catch up the release to the year? Skip 6.18 and go straight to 6.19, but this is killing me.
I'd rather do the upgrade one time in the year when the release is mature. If you released the .0 in February, We'd probably be comfortable with the .05 or .06 sometime in the summer or early fall in plenty of time for year end. It used to be like that. I don't understand the philosophy behind this current release schedule.

More frequent upgrades allow Viewpoint to be more responsive to vulnerabilities. For us, the second release each year typically happens in October/November, so there's enough time to test and upgrade production before the December holiday crunch time.
I wholeheartedly agree. In addition, what the author refers to as "major" releases, are not that major of an upgrade at all. We're becoming accustomed to these as mere enhancements than upgrades. In any event, reducing the frequency as the author suggested would be welcomed.
Disagree - we can do year-end in 2018 on 6.16 just fine. Limiting the number of releases may lengthen the time it takes to fix issues - would rather that sped up than not.
