Edit Filter Bar values no matter where you are in the list

Filter Bar values can only be modified when you've scrolled to the top of the list.  It's a PITA adding/clearing filters when working with a large grid list.  It's also very easy to accidentally delete a "record" when you're trying to revise a filter and haven't scrolled to the top of the list

  My workarounds: 

  • Use 'Esc' a lot to cancel the "automatic editing of a row" that Vista loves to do when you open a grid.
  • After entering a new filter, use the mouse to click somewhere in the grid to perform the filter instead of ENTER.

  Could you clarify the "filter only works when scrolled to top" issue?

  Do you mean

  • that it's ONLY VISIBLE when you are scrolled to the top? Mine is always visible.
  • that after entering a filter, it scrolls to the top? I see that as well, and perhaps VP could be a little smarter in remembering what row you were on so when it pulls in the filtered data, it would scroll to the closest newly matching row....
