It would allow me to break down invoices accordingly to match my project budget without requiring AP to re-enter. A less cumbersome process would make for a time efficient approval with more accurate costing of invoices.

I must be missing something but you can code an invoice to multiple phases, you just add a new line. I've seen invoices coded to 40 different lines because of the way we were doing change orders, each change had it's own phase code.
