Many suggestions have been logged for individual description fields to be expanded beyond 30 characters. This suggestion is looking for a system-wide change to allow more characters in all description fields. As more companies are moving to paperless records, the data stored in the description field is no longer an abbreviation of what is on the paper forms. I'd suggest at least 100 characters; however, this may be a good topic to discuss with focus groups or at the user conference.
