The current recommendation to post auto earnings to two months is to create an auto earnings batch and then to modify it for the month end cutoff in the middle of the week and manually add a new line for the first days of the following month. This allows for error and seems tedious for this powerful of a system.

One solution that can be implemented and has worked very successfully for us, is have your Auto Earnings customized to post to the day of the week. The PR Team still runs the Auto Earnings process once a week and at a split week, each day posts to the correct month and creates your accrual until the check date.
