It would be very useful for the leave requests to not include weekends and public holidays in the request. The system has the dates calendar so why can't it look at the start date and end date and work out the say.... 10 working days are being used in a two week leave request and not 12 (including 1 weekend).
There should also be a screen that the HR user enters in the public holidays a year in advance based on the country and state that combine with the leave form and do not account for these in leave requests.
Staff have no idea what their real time leave balance is without going to HR to look in payroll to give them an exact picture because the public holidays and weekends on the HR Leave Requests includes days which are not a normal weekday
Another suggestion especially for block leave is to not list the leave day by day but to block it eg 25 Nov 2016 to 2nd Dec 2016 - start date and end date. Having each day listed is extremely confusing for the approving manager, HR and the employee. The reports are messy and hard to manage the resources when everything is listed as day by day

Anne, check out Keystyle Data Solutions, we use them to allow our employees to view leave and request time off, it works really well for our 500 employees. They don't have to go into viewpoint at all, because I also find the PR leave and HR leave very confusing.
Thank you for putting this suggestion forward. We looked into using HR Leave Requests and HR Resource Schedule in June 2016 and couldn't get it working. We were talked into a WebEx with a consultant as a "training request" and sadly it was a waste of time. I've since found out that there is a recognised gap within Vista’s HR Leave Request process. We've had to resort to manual leave forms and a shared Outlook calendar so we can see leave for 80 staff as over 70 of our staff don't have access to VIsta. I'd really like to see HR Leave Requests and HR Resource Schedule greyed out (not able to be used) until they are fully functional.
