Often long term agreements are entered into and the price for material can be fixed to the customer. As the cost may change up or down the price to the end user remains fixed. The ability to enter just a fixed price for the material into the rate template is needed otherwise as the price of materials increases/decreases the price to the customer is going to change as well.
