Currently, Vista only allows PR Dept assignments on timecard lines to be determined by what is set up in the employee record, and any deviations from that require a manual change in PR Timecard Entry.  However, at our company, the PR Dept assignments we need to get our time to post to the right GL are determined solely based on what job the timecard line is coded to. We can set up the employee record with a PR Dept related to the job we think they will primarily be coding to, but the reality is we have people coding time to all different types of jobs with different PR Dept assignments and it is a huge manual process each week to go into the PR Timecard Entry records and change the PR Dept assignments to what we need them to be (and the rules are just complex enough that asking our employees to follow these coding rules is too big of an ask).

If there were an option in JC Job Master to assign a default PR Dept to all timecard lines that get coded to that job (and that superseded the default PR Dept assignment in PR Employees), we could simply assign all our needed PR Depts in each of our jobs and wouldn't have to manually change several hundred timecard lines manually each week.  Ideally, this would just be an optional field within JC Job Master, so that if this function was not needed, users could simply just leave the field blank and then it would move onto the PR Employee record for the PR Dept assignment (and consequently, any timecard lines with no job would get assigned the PR Dept associated with the employee record).
