DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEMIncrease the input limit for the number of companies so that larger organizations may use more than 255 companies

SYSTEM VERSION & TEST DATAReporting Customer on 6.8.6. Same in 6.11.0

STEPS TO REPRODUCESet new HQ Company and all other modules, using input length up to maximum of smallint. Setup all types of security, process all types of transactions in Vista by Viewpoint. Check to be sure all reports and inquiries run. Check to be sure fully integrated with all existing and potential new Viewpoint products. Check performance.

CURRENT RESULTSOnly numbers between 0 and 255 can be used when setting up new companies. This limits the number of companies a very large organization could setup when using one instance of Vista by Viewpoint and its related products such as MFM, VCM, VPC, newer bid product, potential new products and all reporting.

EXPECTED RESULTSHigher limit is needed for extremely large organizations.

WORKAROUNDSeparate servers with separate instances of Viewpoint products with customizations for consolidated reporting. Reporting Customer anticipates needed in 3 to 5 years.
