In fields such as reporting writing criteria, jobs, equipment, set the field to be all caps no matter what is entered to avoid having to cap lock on or cap lock off, especially when they are definined fields, such as (A) Actual or (P) posted for reports.. We set up all jobs in all CAPS, so the flexibility to make a field all caps would save a lot of frustrations in entering/filtering data. I was at the Collaboration conference and noticed many presenters had that issue when demonstrating the software.

I solve some of these problems in SQL using alias tables, but our company cannot decide on this issue either. The billing people want Lower case because it makes the billing letters and reports look more Refined and less like Form letters. The rest of accounting wants all caps for ease of use. Linking on user defined fields also show the problem.
