It would be very handy to be able to right click on a grid and export it to clipboard - (rather than having to save a new excel file, select a destination etc). The csv. plain data could then just be dumped into an already open excel tab and a lot of time would be saved.

Setting up our grid to allow for accurate copying and pasting into Excel directly may be difficult. Since we can already export to Excel, though it takes a minute or two extra, this may not be justified depending on the level of effort.
Maybe do it like in SSMS.... copy, or copy with headers. If it's tab delimited then it will natively paste into Excel. I know the grid tools aren't that flexible, but this would be an awesome enhancement!
