When initializing Federal W2 data, incorporate the "sign" of a deduction. For example, we have chosen to use a Pre-tax deduction for our Medical insurance and we also have a negative pretax deduction for those who have earned a wellness incentive. This allows employees to "see" their incentive/savings on their pay stubs and reduces the need for another tier of HR Benefit rates. When the Medical deduction and the incentive negative deduction are both mapped to the same Federal item on for W2s, it is adding the absolute values together rather than recognizing that one of them is negative. We need to be able to indicate whether to recognize actual value or absolute value when completing the Federal Information grid. We have had to manually correct each W2 with a Wellness Incentive for two years now.
