If a customer has a large project and needs a large amount of a product, it would be customary to give a better price for that product on a specific job (quote). For example, Joe has a job using 100 tons of 57 stone and has a quote at $5/ton. Joe is bidding another job which will use 5,000 tons of 57 stone. Joe would obviously want a better price for the larger quantity and a new quote would be given for that job in the event that Joe is the low bidder. This appears to be a common business practice in construction.
