This would greatly reduce the amount of time spent scanning documents into a TEMP folder, then dragging it onto view point, and then editing the description and file type, by simply scanning the document directly to view point and editing the information in one screen. This would benefit being added to every module/program, Job Cost, Job Billing, AP, AR, & HR.

Vista already has the capability today to scan directly into itself using any TWAIN compatible scanner.

Yes, this does exists. However the naming of the file is generic so you have to go in and change the name.
I don't have a TWAIN scanner so I'm not able to scan directly into Vista, but Vista does allow you to drag and drop PDF files into it, which has been my solution for most documents. I'm able to drop attachments from emails (like hire packets) right into employee master files. And for other documents, so that I don't have to print and scan, I've gotten into the happen of printing the doc as a PDF and then I can move the PDF where I want it.
I was hoping for it to be compatible with all printer scanners not just Twain.

Kevin, are you looking for something beyond current functionality? As described above by Andre, there is a method in Vista today that we believe addresses your request.
You can already do this as long as you have a TWAIN compatible scanner.
If you do, at the top of every form with attachments, there is a scanner button you can click.
This would be great as we have switched from paper copies to electronic copies of invoices. This would save a lot of time.
