Need integrated OCR technology with the Documents Scanning Module

This was an extra cost to purchase for us that allows us to scan invoices into an AP Unapproved Invoice Entry record.  This module can be so much better and make invoice entry more efficient by adding in some OCR technology.


Each form can be configured with keywords to link to those fields on the form (Invoice #, Invoice - Invoice, Invoice Date - Date, Total, Grand Total - total invoice etc).


When a new record is created, we open the scan single image as usual.  Scan the invoice and when it converts it to a pdf, add the OCR code to search the document for these keywords and input them into an area beside the invoice.  The user could then adjust the values in case it missed or converted it incorrectly.  When they click on okay, it adds the pdf as it does now, but also inputs the values into the form for you, versus manually typing it in.


This could work on any form that you link keywords to and could help so much with data entry.

    They bought a company that does this, but they either killed it or charge extra for it under a different name.  I consider it borderline breach of contract that they don't add it to existing modules, especially since we financed the acquisition with our purchase and support dollars.
