An original WO may contain services from multiple divisions/disciplines. We don't always want to combine quoted services on the same quote but would like to be able to see which quotes came from which WO's for tracking purposes.
We have the ability to create more than one quote from a WO but only one can ever be setup that retains the initial relationship for tracking purposes and even then, if we want to retain the relationship we have to make it so approved work is automatically added back on the original WO.
Many times, we don't want that.
Example:
User creates a new quote from a WO and does not check the option to create a new WO at point of creation. Resulting quote will maintain the link to the original WO but this relationship can happen only once.
If we do check the option to create a new WO - approved work ends up on a totally new WO but we lose the original WO as an origin point for reporting.
What we need is a way to create a quote from the original WO which will result in a totally new WO but retain a relationship that links the WO's and it's quotes together for tracking. Please see attached as a visual of the proposal.
