Payroll Alllowances/Add Ons paid out to employees need to auto generate in SM Work Completed Labor Lines.
- We currently process all of our employee Per Diem, Truck Pay and Rig Rent through PR Allowances Rule Sets based on the employees’ Craft and Class assignments in their Employee Master
- Because these allowances never hit the PR Timecard Entry grid (they are a calculation in the PR Payroll Process), they do not hit the SM Work Completed grid and, hence, cannot facilitate costing or billing of the allowance through the native payroll process.
- If a manual entry of the allowance is entered into the PR Timecard Entry grid, the auto generated entry in the SM Work Completed grid reflects $0.00 cost while picking up the designated Bill Rate specified from the SM Rate Template for billing. If we manipulate the PR Timecard Entry record to populate the SM Cost fields, we lose the SM Bill Rate fields. It appears we can only have one or the other, but not both.
- We have tested using “Add Ons” instead of the “Allowances” and we get the same result.
- Viewpoint Support has told us to manually enter these through Misc Work Completed Lines as Standard Items, however, doing this causes a GL “bird’s nest” with the necessary manual adjustments in/out of SM and we would rather have the system handle the GL natively.
- There's got to be a better way to get these types of costs into our Work Orders.....as well as billings...
