The new AP Release Retainage program is a nuisance, and quite frankly unnecessary. Its annoying to have to go into an entirely different program just to release retainage, when I used to be able to release in my usual AP workfile. Now I have to go into an entirely different program to do the same function I used to be able to do with two clicks. I understand some customers requested it, but Not all of them did, and I have found no use for it yet. Its super frustrating to be forced to use a program that does the literal exact same function as another program. Seems like a giant waste of time, especially since you rolled it out and its still not working properly. Its also wild to me, that in order to release the retainage, I have to pull the invoice up in AP workfile, release all other hold codes, DELETE it from the AP workfile, open AP release retainage, release the retainage, then go and pull it up in AP workfile. That whole process is unnecessary. Would like to see the customer have the option to use it, or to use the release hold codes in AP Workfile.

Total B.S. that viewpoint gave no explanation as to why they would not turn the hold codes back on for users that wanted it. Once again another useless program that was rolled out, forced on us, and gives us no benefit as of yet. Another reason I would not recommend any viewpoint products.
I love how this status changed to "Will Not Implement" with no other response from VP as to why.

Either do away with it or let us put it into our payment batch from the same screen vs going to mark them to pay in the workfile.
YES!! 100% this. I'm so glad I'm not the only customer that hates the hell outta this module. Down with the AP Release Retainage!!
Complete agree. Huge step backward, especially when it is unintuitive, cumbersome, and doesn't even show the associated PO line information if you need it, so you have to go back and run another report to verify what you're releasing is the right line item.
Do not care for this AP Release Retainage . Cumbersome and takes longer to get through process. Would like to be able to use the HOLD and RELEASE function again. Don't think this change benefits anyone.
I agree. This is extremely annoying and adds extra work
