I'm talking about the 'query text' field. I just spent about a weeks worth of hours trying to figure out why valid SQL (ran fine in SSMS) would not produce results from a "VA Inqueries" assigned to a workcenter GRID.
It turns out that (a) you can't use stored procedures, even though "Update Columns" works fine, and (b), you can't use functions unless they declare the table at the start of the function. Both of which work fine within the SQL world, but fail silently in the VP world.
Doing any of the forbidden things results in no error messages at all, just a blank work center tab.
Viewpoint: Please consider REDUCING the amount of code you use to check the QUERY TEXT window, and instead, run it as is and pump the results to whatever area is asking for them. By "Results", I'm talking about the first result set.
If this is a bug on the WORK CENTER side of things, please consider tweaking that side to allow usage of a VA Inquery with any valid SQL.
Thanks.
