The EM allocation process is focused exclusively on equipment, using existing equipment costs or revenue as a basis for for further equipment costs. This creates very rough estimates for cost allocations. It would make more sense if one could specify a source GL account (e.g. shop tools, insurance, etc.) and allocate the actual costs from that account to equipment. Until then, we're required to make broad estimates or do manual calculations each month for cost allocation.
