Agreed - this has been a huge issue in my experience, having to work to manipulate data out of the system takes so much time out of just being able to export data and analyse it, and it leaves too much room for human error. Having the ODBC connection helps but you have to have someone on staff that's comfortable pulling data that way in the first place.
