We make a point of taking pictures at each job and attaching them to the work order. Sometimes the client wants the pictures, and we need a way to quickly SEE which pictures to export.

Obviously having this turned on all the time like it used to be (several versions ago) makes the program much slower, as thumbnails are generated for every attachment on every record as the user moves across records.

Instead, We suggest one of the following ideas:

• Right next to the top dropdown that lists Detail or Icon, add a button named Generate Thumbnails which switches to Icon mode then swaps the icons out for thumbnails.

• Add a Folder Export (or Folder View) option to the Attachments button/dropdown which when activated opens a Windows Explorer window which shows all the attachments for that record.

The first option has the following advantages:

• No slowdown to normal record-browsing compared to the current setup.

• Thumbnails are only generated when asked for, and not as the user browses across records (as they were several versions ago).

The second option has the following advantages:

• Also no slowdown to record-browsing compared to current setup.

• Thumbnails are generated by WINDOWS (less code required by Viewpoint)

• The user is free to SELECT MULTIPLE ITEMS to then drag/drop to an email, or Dropbox, or where ever they wish.

• The user can open one image, then use native windows slideshow controls to go back/forward through the images, something completely lacking in Viewpoint attachment browsing.
