We need a history of an employee of what dates he was hired and terminated.
We have union employees that are hired for a job, laid off when done, and hired again for the next job. There is no good history of the hire and termination dates in the system. HR only tracks the LAST hire date and the LAST term date. We want a full history of the employee.
I found the HR Resource Employment History report but it only tracks benefits. It does not track hire date or term dates. Seems mislabeled to me?
The HR Terminated Employees report only gives you the LAST term date for all employees in a date range. It does not provide a history for an employee.
My HR department has need of the history of an employee and I am having a hard time getting that data in Vista.
I used the CHAT and the resolution was; The information table wise is not showing the needed data in order to potentially create a needed report from. Vaughn will create a suggestion for our development team.
It does not seem to far fetched to track that in the system.

We need this also, I just submitted an idea and found this afterwards. This would be a huge help for our HR Team.
You can use 2 status codes (New hire & rehire) set up in HR Employment Status form with a flag Update Employment History checked, this will take care of hire and rehire information.
As far as terminations go, if you use N-Reason type codes for term reasons in HR Resources and those will automatically update employment history using the date entered in Term Date field, no need to enter on termination date. HR Resource Employment History report can be used as a basic way to review employees' history
This needs to be implemented. This is a routine task in HR when completing employment verifications and work history.
This seems like HR 101. Especially since every business has to deal with unemployment insurance. A history of hire and term dates is basic hiring standards. I am surprised it has not been added yet.
I agree.
Our work around to this problem is to keep a history of all dates in the "Notes" tab for the employee. Another way we track is by using the AR Resource Employment History. In the AR Resource Master, the "Status" field is tracked in the AR Resource Employment History. Everytime the "Status" is changed from "Active" to "Term", it creates a record in the AR Resource Employment History. The only catch is that the date showing for the record is the ACTUAL date the record was changed, not the "term date", however, it does allow you to change the date for that record. We always click on the tab and make sure that the dates reflect the true "TERM" date.
We need this now.
