When using EM to bill tools to jobs the EM Transfer is what the system uses to bill from. The EM module will not bill without a transfer and it will only bill the last transfer regardless of what the EM record says.
We have issues where someone comes in and changes the EM Tool Record and puts a different job or location in for that tool thinking that will affect the billing and bill the new job number. So the reports show the tool on the new job # they just typed in but EM Tool Billing still bills the last transfer which is the OLD job and location numbers.
It would be nice if there was a warning when changing the EM Record Location field or EM job Number field that says something to the effect, 'New entry does not match the last EM Transfer and will not change the job or location this tool is being billed to.'
And it would be nice if there was a report that could tell us when the location and job in the last transfer was different than the Location and Job in the EM record. Then we could find and fix these errors a lot faster.
We are training on our end not to update the EM record but to always do the EM Transfer to move tools instead. But the more we can warn and identify this error up front the better. I am surprised that this has not been suggested long before now?
