because the added information is too noisy. Cannot be efficient when having to always filter by checking the box. Also filters DO NOT HOLD> THis is so annoying to the point I want to move away from VP. You would think something that costs so much money would be more open, and user friendly. This is clearly NOT the case.

Typically when you are in any form with both a form and grid mode, you can right click and go to field properties for a particular field. Within user overrides, you can check the box if you want it to Display on the grid or in the form. Seems like it would be pretty easy to clean up the grid mode to something more manageable. You can then go to View and "show hidden fields" if and when necessary.
