Add the Retainage payable type 4 to the Payment Workfile Merged

Currently, type 1-3 and 5-7 are available in the AP Workfile however, type 4 is missing. There is no efficent way to get the type 4 invoices into the Workfile, and the work arounds leave room for error. Please add type 4 as an option in the payment Workfile.

I get that and we never used the retention pay type at the line level, it only ever exists for us at the detail level(APTD), so for us the only thing that changed is the release process which we welcomed. I am therefore not sure why it needed to removed from the payment workfile filters.

Prior to the Retainage Release process introduced in 6.19, Retainage Payable was not reclassified in GL as a Trade Payable upon release and not debited until paid. Contractors who did not promptly payout released retainage, particularly at month-end had difficulty reconciling AP with GL (i.e. GL still showed it as booked to R/P when it should have been recognized as A/P, nor did released retainage display on an AP Aging report as it should).

As a consequence of implementing a new Release Retainage process w/GL update, we needed to restrict the use of the Retainage Pay Type on an AP transaction - it no longer is allowed to be used as a line-level pay type. Subcontract invoices should be posted with a Subcontract or Job Pay Type with retainage entered in its own field (e.g. a $1000 retainage only invoice posted to a sub s/be entered using the Sub Pay Type as $1000 total with $1000 retainage) Once retainage is released, AP Payment Workfile will pull that invoice in for payment using the Sub Pay Type.

We are considering additional filtering criteria in AP Payment Workfile making it easier to isolate and select released retainage, instead of all open subcontract invoices. Perhaps an explicit selection for 'released retainage' - I'd welcome your thoughts.

Filtering on the retainage(retention) paytype existed in previous versions, why was it taken away. What is the issue with paying retention invoices in separate payment batches... Please Explain

It was much better when you could release on the fly and not have to use AP Retainage Release.
