We do not always register to collect and submit Sales/Use Tax in a state if we are under the Nexis for that state. Adding this control would allow us to better control AP costs to prevent an unintended Use Tax accrual situation. This would also tie into Intercompany Invoicing for Material Sales, where our material distribution company isn't registered in the state the construction company is performing work in. The material company is selling to the job and picks up the job tax setup and charges Sales Tax for a state they are not registered to collect in. If we were able to control at the Tax Code level (which is company specific) whether or not a company should be able to charge Sales Tax or accrue Use Tax we would prevent the opportunity for these errors to occur.
