This would be beneficial to keep costs & billings accurate. Currently, if we had 100 pieces invoiced to us from a supplier, but we have only used 25 to date and need to submit a monthly invoice to our client, we either have to bill for none of the items and wait until they are all used and/or returned and posted to AP; or we have to duplicate the line, enter the amount we want to bill for and then delete the original line. This keeps the original cost of 100 pieces out there as unbilled (which is inaccurate). This adds 25 billed pieces not tied to anything from AP. This also makes us have to remember we did this the following month as the unbilled 100 items will show up again as needing to be billed. It would be beneficial to have a box where we could choose to "split transaction" and "bill xxx now" and "bill xxx later" and let the software behind the scenes do what it needs to do to for the following month. This is a standard feature in Deltek Ajera and truly missing from this software.
