For Canadian users, the Indian Tax-Exempt Status box in PR Employees does NOT properly record on the Canada T4 when there is a combination of both Tax-exempt and Taxable earnings for a Status Indian employee during the year.
We need a function that will allow us to split Indian Tax-exempt earnings into Box 71 on the T4 and Taxable earnings into Box 14 on the T4, since Status Indian employees may perform work both ON and OFF reserves during the year.
The Indian Tax-Exempt Status checkbox allows us to toggle on and off to correctly process either Tax-exempt or Taxable income for each pay period, but at year-end it will lump together ALL earnings for the employee as one or the other based on whether the box is checked (all income will be recorded in Box 71 as tax-exempt) or not checked (all income will be recorded in Box 14 as taxable) at the time the T4s are produced.
