Vista is too slow

Since migrating to the cloud we have severe latency issues. if you're doing much data entry you literally have to wait on VP to catch up before you can continue or you'll be typing in the wrong cells.

We've tried using the RDP version but while faster still has lag and that has its own drawbacks (printing without multiple steps, saving, etc is just tedious since your operating on the server and not your desktop). VP was never designed for the cloud and is much to "chatty" to work this way.

Concerning - we are in the middle of migrating, and are very concerned. We've noticed it's slower already in just the test environment.

Erickson Associates, Inc. has been a VFC customer since 2016. In going to VFC, one of our biggest concerns was periods of delay in executing applications within Vista. We have not experienced delays until recently, January 2025 to Present. Now there are significant delays when executing applications in Vista, closing application windows, and printing has become extremely slow. The whole VFC Vista software application is experiencing severe latency issues to the point that it is excruciating painful to work with the Vista application. We have a dedicated highspeed fiber optic internet connection, so the internet connection does not appear to be the problem. Whatever has caused this problem, please address it and fix it as soon as possible, as we pay a lot of money to Trimble/Viewpoint, and we expect a product and service that works without delays.

I thought it was just us having this issue - glad to know that it's not.

It's a ridiculous push to the cloud to drive drive licensing revenue and clearly there is no consideration for the customer experience. What is really the cost to continue releasing installation packages for on premise. This is just a way to make all the perpetual licenses customers have purchased obsolete. Maybe Trimble could release a plan to implement data centres across the globe including Australia! If not we must start looking at another alternative ERP.
