We would like to see an option for defining a labor rate expiration date in addition to the effective date. If labor hours fell beyond the expiration date, this should cause a bill error so as to prevent invoices from being sent to customers before new labor rates are updated.

Viewpoint reviews Suggestion Box regularly for all of our products and updates statuses, adds comments, and performs various house-keeping (including deleting) as needed to ensure that Suggestion Box is maintained as a productive environment for product enhancements requests.
We've added a user-defined field for this purpose, as well as a workflow notifier to notify the billing staff 30 days in advance of the expiration.
