Current functionality is as follows. We want a 0 dollar projection to be entered as a 0 dollar projection without any work around necessary.
Issue:
The most common problem for the Estimated Cost @ Completion not matching the numbers you see in Projections is phases that have an estimate and the PM's project them at zero.
The WIP and Contract Status reports are unique in the way they calculate the Estimated Cost @ Completion, they will override the Projected amount with the Estimated amount if the Projected amount is zero.
Easiest way to isolate these entries is by running the JC Cost and Revenue by Item report, and if you see amounts in the Current Estimate Cost column and a zero in the Projected column, the phases associated with that contract item are the culprits.
The way to trick the WIP report(s) and/or the JC Contract Status report into not overriding the zero projected amount is to pick a phase on the contract item and enter $.01 for the projected amount. Then post the batch with 0.01 plugged.
