We have many years worth of W2's in Vista. We have from time to time had someone go in trying to make adjustments to the current W2s but not realize they were in the prior year's W2 files. It would be nice to "lock" or have some other mechanism that prevents someone from changing data in prior years and accidentally getting them out of sync. If accidentally changed and someone needs a reprint of prior years, it opens up possibility of incorrect info being sent out years later. At very least have a protection against accidentally reinitializing a year after it has already been sent. There will need to be an occasional corrected W2 done, so understand that the data needs to be accessed. But make it so you have to get to the W2 data a different way once closed to process a correction.
