This should have a way to pick a default scanner and not make a user have to pick the scanner each and every time they scan a single document thousands of time a day for some users. Change is not always better in this case.

While we can’t do everything at once, we rely upon your feedback to help guide the prioritization of our product improvements, and Suggestion Box is a critical tool for us to understand and prioritize our customers’ needs.
Viewpoint reviews Suggestion Box regularly for all of our products and updates statuses, adds comments, and performs various house-keeping (including deleting) as needed to ensure that Suggestion Box is maintained as a productive environment for product enhancements requests.

When scanning hundreds of tickets every day this new process has greatly decreased productivity and made the users more frustrated
This additional step has become quite cumbersome for users who scan often. It would be ideal if this was selected once and kept as a User Option or even selected once on each login.
This issue slows down our users that are processing hundreds of documents each day and productivity is impacted.
I had previously submitted a suggestion for this also, not having seen this one out there already (I-4376), but it appears that my suggestion was removed. This change is slowly impacting more of our users and is becoming quite noisy.
Yes, please change. This recent update has created an additional step, resulting in a longer process than before. Let's move forward, not backward.
