It is very common practice to require vendors/subcontracts to provide details of current insurances (eg public liability) to ensure they are compliance with systems management processes. Numerous other systems provide companies with the facility to automatically send reminder/warning emails to those vendors/contractors to send through updated details of their insurances when they are about to expire. Vista should provide this function as a standard feature within AP and SL.
